Ribbon Ceremony: A Second Storywalk® Opens at the Prospect Heights Public Library
Monday, August 12 at 2:00pm
Prospect Heights Public Library District - Auxiliary Parking Lot (Back)
12 N. Elm Street
Prospect Heights, IL 60070
We are ecstatic to announce the unveiling of our second StoryWalk® in partnership with Prospect Heights School District 23!
Years in the making, the path between Eisenhower Elementary and the Prospect Heights Public Library was a dream of Youth Services staff member Julie Rodrian (adoringly known as Mrs. Julie by young readers and parents). This new path and StoryWalk® increases accessibility for students and families traveling between the school and library, all while encouraging life-long literacy, an appreciation for the outdoors, and remaining physically active!
Our first Storywalk® located on the east side of the library along Lions Park opened to the public in 2013. It has been a successful collaboration between the PHNRC, the Park District, Commonwealth Edison, Boy Scout Troop 468, and countless volunteers.
Read a new story as you walk along each path! Updated seasonally (fall, winter, spring, and summer), we hope that you and your family will come back to check out what’s new!
StoryWalk® was created by Anne Ferguson in collaboration with the Vermont Bicycle and Pedestrian Coalition, and the Kellogg-Hubbard Library.
