Adult Programming & Outreach Coordinator
We are looking for an innovative and engaging programming coordinator to join our Adult Services team. This is a full-time position and must be filled by a highly dynamic and responsible individual who can help support the Library’s mission and culture through programming.
We strive to create experiences that are equitable, inclusive, and responsive to the wants and needs of all members of our community while fostering lifelong learning, creative exploration, and social connection. This position creates and coordinates programming for adults of all ages, including a large senior population.
Special areas of responsibility include identifying and reviewing potential programs for adults, coordinating and contracting with outside speakers and performers, introducing and attending events, and evaluating their success.

Hours & Scheduling:
Includes daytime, evening and weekend hours. Must be flexible for scheduling to present programs, support events and serve at public service points in the library and in the community. This position does require a commitment to working evenings and weekends as needed to best serve the needs of the community.
Qualifications:
Associate’s Degree, a Library Technical Assistant (LTA) certificate, or equivalent combination of education and experience

Position Summary:
- Responsible for planning, promoting and executing adult library programs and events. Coordinates the Libraries engagement with the local community.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
- Perform all duties associated with creating, scheduling, booking, presenting and hosting adult programs, classes and workshops at the library.
- Serves as primary host at adult and senior programs; drafts and delivers welcome and introduction script; works with staff to coordinate meeting room setup including the use of the audio-visual equipment.
- Responsible for writing program descriptions for adult programs and classes, used as input to our newsletters (print and online), flyers and posters.
- Coordinates contacting program registrants with reminders, wait list notifications and other communications as necessary.
- Monitors and maintains program supplies.
- Coordinates community engagement for the Library with other departments, including outreach to local businesses and nonprofits, participation in community events (such as community days, block party, fairs and parades.)
- Serve on committees of Library and community organizations in order to identify resources and services that respond to the needs and interests of the community.
- Represents the Library in a positive fashion at all times.
