Join us for some square-dancing fun with the Arlington Squares Dance Club. Today’s square dancing is exercise because of all the walking you do to the beat of the music, it is social because of all the friendly people you meet, and it is mentally stimulating because of the calls you learn and respond to while dancing. All these benefits you will gain while also having fun! And while Country-Western is certainly the traditional music for square dancing, today’s dancers move to a variety of music including current rock hits. As long as the music has a good beat, it can be used for square dancing! No partner is needed so singles and couples are welcome to attend lessons, as are youth grades 4 and up when accompanied by an adult. No prior experience is needed. Dance assistants (called “Angels”) will be there to guide you. Wear casual clothes and comfortable shoes. Join us for an introductory lesson and be ready to have some fun!
