Author Robert Mueller reviews the naval engagements of 1944 with the climactic engagements in the Philippine Sea and Leyte Gulf that sealed Japans fate. The impact of American submarines on Japanese shipping and Japanese Kamikaze attacks upon American warships are also discussed.
