Event Details

After sinking eight Allied ships, 45000 tons, on June 4, 1944, the US Navy captured German submarine U505 with two important Enigma machines & code books on how to use them.  The final voyage of the U505 was to Chicago’s Museum of Science & Industry as a WWII exhibit.
