BIO: Joel M. Ostrow is Professor of Political Science at Benedictine University. He specializes in Russian politics, democracy and democratic institutions and the threats they face, and international security, and is frequently called upon for expert analysis on these and related topics by various media outlets. He is the author of three books, including The Consolidation of Dictatorship in Russia, numerous articles. He is the former Moscow Correspondent for Crain’s Communications, and received his doctorate in political science in 1996 from The University of California at Berkeley.
