Library Closures:
The Library will be closed on Tuesday, December 1, due to construction restricting the use of plumbing.

The Library will be closed early at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, November 25, and all day Thursday, November 26, to celebrate Thanksgiving.

With the renovation underway, the Library is offering virtual and curbside pickup services until the renovation is complete in Spring 2021. Our hours will remain unchanged. For additional information, visit our Library Updates page.

Your Library Online:
Even if you cannot make it to the Library physically, you can still check out eBooks, audio-books, movies, TV shows, music, and magazines digitally with our various online resources, all for free with your Prospect Heights Public Library card. Learn more about our resources and how to use them here. Also be sure to check out our online databases, which include resources on genealogy, health, newspaper archives, school help, and more, plus subscribe to our enewsletter for the latest news and information.

Printing at the Library From Home:
No printer at home? You can now upload print jobs from your home computer and submit them to the Prospect Heights Public Library's printer. There are two methods detailed through our instructional videos, either through our website or through the PrinterOn App. Once completed, you can pick them up via curbside pickup.

Register for a Library Card Online to Access Our Databases and Online Book Options:
Online library card registration for residents of the Prospect Heights Library District is available under the My Account tab on the left-hand side of the page of our website or by clicking here. We will be processing registrations while we are closed and once a patron gets a library card number they will have access to all of our online resources.

Passport Services:
While the Library is closed, we will still be offering passport application services offsite starting in November. Visit our Passport Services page for times, locations, and additional information.

Take-Home Service Hour: Girls Love Mail

Service hours available! Write letters to cheer up someone newly diagnosed with breast cancer. Girls Love Mail collects these letters of encouragement and distributes them at cancer centers. Pick up your supplies using Curbside Pickup. Call the Library at 847-259-3500 to schedule your appointment. Grades 9-12.

One packet is worth one hour of service. Write in the Notes section if you'd like multiple packets.

Encore Recording: Nature Speaks: Nature?s Best Hope

Join Doug Tallamy, a professor in the Department of Entomology and Wildlife Ecology at the University of Delaware, for a discussion on simple steps that each of us can- and must- take to reverse declining biodiversity. Chief among his research goals is to better understand the many ways insects interact with plants and how such interactions determine the diversity of animal communities. He explains why we, ourselves, are nature's best hope. Doug's new book 'Nature's Best Hope' released in February 2020, is a New York Times Best Seller.
