Employment Opportunities @ the Library:

Youth Services Assistant, Youth Services Department Part time (25-28 hours a week)

The Prospect Heights Public Library is seeking an enthusiastic, customer focused individual familiar with children’s literature. Youth Services Assistants are responsible for a variety of tasks in the Youth Services Department, which serves children birth through eighth grades.

Duties: include assisting library users in the use of digital and print resources, planning and conducting programs both in and out of the library, assisting with collection development and promoting the library and library resources and services. Fluency in Spanish is a plus.

We are looking for part time help, with an average of 25-28 hours a week, which includes a Thursday evening, 2 Saturdays a month and participation in our Sunday rotation. The additional hours would be during the weekday.
Salary: $14.38 per hour, DOQ includes benefits.

Requirements: Experience with children is essential, BA, LTA, or equivalent child care experience. Fluency in Spanish and/or another language is a plus.

Adult Services Assistant
Averaging 15 hours per week
Mondays and Thursdays 1 pm - 6 pm
Every other weekend (Saturdays 10 am - 5 pm, Sundays 1 pm -5 pm)

RESPONSIBLITIES
Help patrons find the information or books they need.  Sign patrons up for programs. Act as a certified U.S. Passport Acceptance Agent
Other duties as assigned and time permits

QUALIFICATIONS
LTA or equivalent experience required  2 years of experience in a customer service environment (public library experience preferred); competency with computers and Microsoft Office; must be personable!
Spanish-language skills a plus!

Shelver Circulation Department Part time

Prospect Heights Public Library has a part-time opening on our shelving team. Responsiblites include shelving all library materials and maintaining library shelves in accordance with the directions given by the Shelving Supervisor.

Monday & Wednesday 9:00am – 12:00pm
 & Friday 9:00 am – 1:00pm
10 hours per week.
$8.25 per hour
